Product description (for alcohol free printing in DDS dampening systems)
Most small size offset printing presses are equipped with a direct dampening system from Heidelberg or a film dampening systems from "Kompac". This wetting technology transports water via the ink roller train to the plate and works without addition of alcohol. It is thus a variant of alcohol free printing.Our Alphafount SF 133 is a fount designed for this kind of dampening systems meeting the requirement of small size printing and short run jobs.The fount allows top performance with mineral oil as well as vegetal oil based-, metallic inks. If may even work with UV-and hybrid inks if curing devises are connected. Features Besides the usual qualities of a modern fountain solution, like good clean running features, low water damping and prevention of bacterial attack within the dampening system, a special conceived buffering avoids calcium carbonate deposits. Further the fount has a concentration of plate protective components.
- It enables faster starts and thus reduces waste;
- Formulated with high-performance anti-piling properties to avoid press downtime;
- Fast start up of the plate;
- Effective calcium blocker prevents calcium deposits on ink rollers: No glaze and ink roller stripping;
- Contains de-foamer; for trouble-free press performance.
Technical dataTo achieve the optimum performance, it is recommended that Alphafount SF 133 Fountain Solution be used at 4,0% - 5,0% dosage. Conductivity of the press-ready solution will be approx.1300 uS/cm (at 4%).To verify the conductivity of the press-ready solution, prepare a control sample using local water at the desired dosage. Record the pH and conductivity to serve as the performance target on press.

It may work with UV- and hybrid inks as well if appropriate curing devises are connected.Some plate brands allow smaller "water-bandwidth" than others thus react more sensitive to water uptake variation.IPA-dosage-0% (0%-5%)Storage/handling/packing2

Usage and product-instructionsTo ensure an optimal tray life thoroughly clean the water feeding systems with fount system cleaner and deglaze ink train and dampening rubber rollers before charging the unit with freshly mixed solution.Ideal dilution depends on press speed, type of dampening system, type of ink and quality of paper.Alphafount SF 133 Fountain Solution is designed to run at 4,0% - 5,0% dosage.After establishing the working concentration, the conductivity and pH should be recorded. This data can then serve as an on-press quality control tool.Attention: A too high or too low dosage of the additive may cause printing difficulties. The ink-water balance may be affected ending in dysfunctional ink split.
